My topic of interest was always learning more about my elders past and how they came to America. It brings me closer to them, as well as understanding their hardships to allow my life to be the way it is now. The Hmong people were never talked about during history class, along the topic of the Vietnam/Secret War. It would only be brief or not mentioned at all. I want to promote this history of my people. Additionally promoting a sense of cultural diversity and inclusivity, as well as geographical knowledge—knowing more of your community and the people around will allow a safe space for support, love, and understanding.
